In many old operas the fat viking lady had the final aria. When she came out to sing, people knew that the opera was soon over.
A few people claim to have invented this phrase to mean: All of the acts must be completed before it is over. Either in football, baseball or the movies.
Dan Cook, a Television Sports Caster is generally credited for inventing it. Other take credit, but that is not unusual.

My ideas? Try to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. Work hard, but don't over 60 minutes at a time. Do planks and other abs exercises on alternate days.
On training days, do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.
The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!
Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.
Read magazines like Shape, Womens Fitness, Fitness, etc to get tips and to stay motivated.
Good luck and stick at it. This plan has lost me 20 lbs in 12 weeks so far, just go for it!

that's from American events, baseball especially, the position there is continually a possiblity that the team behind can score sufficient to win because baseball isn't subject to a time clock. at the same time as the game is over there are places the position a song is performed at the same time as human beings leave the stadium i.e. "the fat lady". It turned right into a participant named Yogi Berra who stated this. It also means so that you could no longer supply up on some thing in existence till they are making a song at your funeral, "the fat lady", i.e. an opera diva. (Yogi Berra is Italian and they prefer opera famously.)

Ever been to an opera?
The fat lady is usually the one who sings the last aria, at least in legend.
See 'Der Gotterdammerung' for the classic example.

'Cause it ain't over 'til it's over.
Thanks to those of you who are opera lovers. That would never have crossed my mind.
In "The Beverly Hillbillies", Jed said that CHURCH ain't over 'til the fat lady sings.
