usually a swelling of the tissues of the esophagus, most often caused by gastro-esophageal reflux. Can make swallowing difficult, can be a precursor to esophageal errosions, should not be ignored.

This is a curiously interesting questioning for me. My mother had this and they occasionally did "throat stretching". She ate very small bites and very slowly.
More recently I began having throat constriction. This seemed to happen primarily with wheat or fungal type products like raw mushroom and some raw nuts.
In trying to solve this I started studying anything that referenced wheat products. Candida came up. I learned candida is a disease that gets into the waste product in our bowels when
our system is not emptying correctly. Then I began reading about colon cleansing. I am not an expert but apparently our intestines are like drain lines to the house. They get more and more coated and less and less waste leaves our body like it should. So we get sicker and sicker . From apparently unconnected things.
I then began to Take Ibuprofen to eliminate the swelling in my tissues, this helped some. After that I started drinking Citrusil (a fiber product) in juice every morning and every night. In less than a week all of the throat constriction, acid reflux, and allergies were gone. AMAZING!!
From the digestive problems I have recovered with this simple solution.
Since you do not add details to explain what exactly your throat is doing. Is it constricting or swollen? Ibuprofen would help the swelling. But the purging with citrusil would help the digestion. Depending on what is causing your problem.
Good Luck.
