Please find a competent therapist that will understand and see you through. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a proven method of treatment, utilize a therapist that has been certified and trained in DBT. DBT is an offshoot of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) So a therapist, social worker, psychologist, or psychiatrist that is trained in these is your best bet.
It will be a long process that will be well worth it in the end. The website also lists books to read, a list of therapists in your area and discussion boards. I wish you luck.

I found out that I suffer from it too a few months ago. I didn't believe it until my husband sat me down and read off the symptoms, explaining how each applies to me. Now I can see that not only do I have this disorder, I see how it hurts my husband. Coping is very tough. Medicine helps, but there really only so much you can rely on chemicals to make you calm. I suggest finding a therapist you get along with. And if you're in a relationship, have them go to a couple of sessions too so they know what to expect and how to help you. Unfortuately mental disorders such as this never completely go away, but with help it will get better.

Read the book "I hate you, don't Leave me" I read it with my daughter when she was going through some of this. You will probably see yourself in this book. It helps to see that you are not so different after all. I heard that the Dialectic therapy is very good, but the cognitive behavior therapy seems to be most effective for my daughter. Keep looking until you find the right therapist. Be sure to request someone who specializes in the therapy you need. We have been through 4 different therapists and many are great cheerleaders for you, but it will make a world of difference when you find someone you helps you cope and gives you "tools" to help you feel and behave better.

I was diagnosed with Borderline 3 years ago. Very important is that you start Dialektical Behavior Therapy ( I included a link). I take Prozac for Depression, Lyrica and Campral for Anxiety, Abilify for Schizophrenia and Geodon for an overall well-being and sleep. Hang in there, there's help out there and a lot of psychiatrists and Therapists actually know what they are talking about. This is my favorite (most informative) website on BPD:

Which personality disorder do you have? My son has autism and it effects all of us. He has problems with socialisation and eye contact. He doesn't make friends and doesn't seem to care about anyone but me and his dad. It has been difficult but finding his problem areas and working on it with him helps he has gotten better. Which is what I recommend with you find your strong point and low points and use your strong points to help with whatever problems you have.

dialectical behavioral therapy was the only thing that helped me... it was created by Marsha Linehan... she has a skills training manual on amazon.com if you can't find a DBT therapist in your area....

but it is better if you have dbt in person...

although there is also online dbt...i don't remember how to find it.. you could probably find it if you googled enough....

i went though some thing like that but it was because i was not
liking who i was and i felt like every one hated me and i just wanted to hurt myself so i acted like i was someone else to escape the real me to make others around me like me more which didn't work because they all thought i was crazy any ways
because i was alway changing. it was like i was bi polar. it is just some thing you have to accept... it is stressful and hard but you
will meet a good person that will help you break it.
