It cost about as much as it did to do the knuckle shuffle on your piss pump.

It really depends on which country's prices you're looking for. I am assuming the US since many community members hail from there.
The US Census provides consumer prices in the pdf at the following link. Milk can be found on page 31. There may be additional calculations you need to do for inflation. I've also provided a source page for you to find discussions on whether something should be adjusted for inflation and how to do that.
I was unable to quickly find references to beer prices on Google. Spending some time with a search with good parameters will likely turn this up for you. Good luck!

I'm told that a pint of milk cost 1/- (5p) in 1970, and beer about 6/- (30p) a pint.

Pint of bitter cost 10p(decimal)this was 2shillings then.milk cost 5p or 1shilling a pint then.We went decimal in 1972 things seem to have been going up in price since.Remember speaking to an elderly guy in late 80s he could remember when you could get 80 pints of bitter for £1.when he was 18.

Beer was 4 bob and milk was free. Well it was if you got up early enough and stole it from the neighbours front door.

If you take the percentage than beer has become costiler due to more taxes levied on it than on milk.
