There are three sources for financial aid, scholarships, and grants available.
First, there is the FAFSA.ed.gov which will help you tap into both federal aid and school scholarships and grants.
Second, the college's financial aid website often lists private scholarships and grants that you have to apply for since they are not automatic with school aid.
Third, there are free membership scholarship listing websites. Most are updated regularly.
Finally, apply well before the scholarship application deadline. In addition, review the website for key information about the organization before completing the essay portion on the application.
