If you are a truly born of the spirit Christian, then you would get a twinge in your spirit. And if not, all you have to do is seek Scripture..."I will set my eyes on no evil thing"..."Concentrate on those things which are pure, holy, without blemish"....

I aint judging ya here..Just quoting Scripture, if it causes conviction and the fact that you even asked the question shows that it does, then dont do it, if you continue with what your heart knows for a fact is wrong, your heart could be hardened and then you fall away....
Ask yourself WHY you like that music. You identify with it somehow..right? But we are to speak to each other in psalms and hymns, so would you walk up to a fellow Christian and speak manso lyrics to them? I think not.

Look dude, (or dudette)...I am 50 years old..I have been saved by grace along time now..I still listen to things that I identify with, I mean if I am feeling romantic I listen to sade..If I am angry I go for stabbing westward, disturbed..etc...Well, I just broke all those a few weeks back cause I know in my spirit that I should only identify with my SAVIOR....
Do the right thing...Blessings to you.

It's not sacreligious whatsoever; acting upon their words would be. Kinda like doing what Bush tells us to do. Talk abot sacrelige!

it may have a long term effect on your way of thinking. there are Christian bands that rock just as hard if not harder, but their message is about God. For instance try Red, Day of Fire, Showbread, The Classic Crime--the list goes on and on.

enjoy

personally feel as long as the music contains NO profane and or offensive language what you listen to is your own business. after all you have free will but the language would be my concern since profane lyrics might infringe upon the rights of others in your household.

Nope. In a world where people kill each other and hate each other I doubt God has time to worry about your bad taste in music.

I perrsonally think that you should avoid this type of music. There are some really good songs that don't talk about sex, drugs and killing. It really does seem sacreligious to me.

It is if you enjoy their lyrics, also you must realize that the words in the songs keep going through your head and it is just like feeding your mind poison.

Ask God. If he doesn't say anything back, assume you are OK.
