Do any other religious groups own tv networks or radio stations that are used primarily to beg for money?

Beggars on the street are "private organizations" that need money, but they are still begging.

Daystar is currently holding one of their frequent Begathons and there is no other word to use to describe their begging.

The day that Jesus Christ or God shows up at my door in person, I will give him whatever he wants. But, if he needs me to support him or my help, then he isn't much of a God in the first place, is he?

So it is with Christian beggars promising what they cannot deliver.

This is a serious question. I am well aware that not every single Christian is begging for money, the question is do any other religious groups, cults or sects beg for money on radio & tv?

I have never heard of any, has anyone else?

They're certainly the only ones I've ever seen beg for money on TV and the radio. Some Christians may argue that they have to ask for donations since their organizations are private. However, if the goal of their organizations is to spread the word of God, is it really necessary to spend all that money on lavish TV sets and big, poufy wigs and make-up for the televangelists' wives?

There are hundreds of Christian churches and/or denominations that do not beg for money on radio or tv. If some do it doesn't mean that the whole Christian community endorses it. In cases of disasters I think it's permissible; but not for building churches, etc.
I do not know if in other religions some have this modus operandi.

I am a Christian, and it SERIOUSLY gets on my nerves. Last Sunday I sat through 3 televised "sermons". One asked for 77 dollars for 7 days, based on some thing in the bible, to "sow a seed" for "our children in the new school year". HE was basicly saying, i will pray for yo uif you send this random and obscure amount of money...IT WAS SO INSULTING. ANother guy wrote and sells his books through his show, which isn't really upsetting. He created something and if I wanted it I would buy it, but the one who ask for money and you will receive prayer and blessings, as a Christian and especially a clergy man prayer should be given freely, honestly and genorously.

I believe there have been Indian Gurus/Swamis have gone on tv worldwide. I believe the Rolling Stones (or was it the Beatles?) used to worship some Swami or another and ended up shaving their heads for some ritual or something. But that was like 20, 30 years ago.

I can't think of any, but then again they may have Benny Hinn type muslims begging for cash in other countries.

The amazing this is people send them money. If they are that dumb, they deserve to lose their money

Indeed every Christian is offering money with thanks for service of God. But other religious groups are taking money by force from thier followers.

Christians do not "beg" for money, period. A ministry, and ministry needs money to operate.
