Thank god he picked the tub in his sleep or he would of made a mess. This is normal. But be careful about the bath in the middle of the night. I wouldn't want any harm to come to him, "sleep bathing".

My son started sleepwalking when he was around 5. He would get out of bed, open his closet door, and go pee in there. The creepy part would be is that his eyes were open, as if he was awake. I would try talking to him, or ask him, "What are you doing, that's not the bathroom!". He would be completely unresponsive. The only thing I could think to do for the next time he does this is when you see him getting out of bed, rush him to the bathroom. He still does this at night, and is 8 now, but not near as frequently. If you are sincerely concerned about it, I would talk with your doctor or his pediatrician.

How old is your son? The reason I ask is because sleep walking is very normal at certain stages. My daughter used to do the same thing. She'd get up in the middle of the night and we would find her sleeping in the dog bed, on the stairs, in a bathtub, in front of the fridge, and once in my car in the garage! We had to install locks higer on the doors so she wouldn't wander off into the street. If you think he may be a danger to himself, contact his doc and work out a plan that works for you and keeps him safe.

I use to sleep walk all the time, I'd walk out of my room, my parents would ask me where I was going and I would say to the washroom (which is 5 feet from my room), and my parents said that they would always find me downstairs in the basement (there is a washroom down there as well), but I would always be standing at the bottom of the stairs (not going pee). Just be lucky that he makes it to the washroom, and doesn't go on the floor. He should grow out of it when he gets older, I did. If he doesn't take him to a doctor, his sleep walking could be a cause of something else.

People do sleepwalk, so this isn't that unusual. If it persists, discuss it with your pediatrician as to how to handle this, how to make sure he doesn't leave the house in the middle of the night, etc.
As for the peeing in the tub thing, I wouldn't get too excited over this if it is an isolated incident and he was half asleep at the time. If it persists, simply instruct him otherwise and let him know he needs to not do this.

It is a very good posibility that your son was sleep walking. They do out grow it. Little boys tend to have to pee at night and not wake up to do so. My 4 yr old has been getting up to go potty and we moved him into a different room so he got turned around and ended up in the playroom instead of the bathroom. So maybe if you rearanged the room could have something to do with it. Good Luck!

My son pees everywhere. On the trees, in the grass, off the deck.
Kids are like that, at least he didn't pee in the laudry basket.

When my son was about 8, he got up and peed in the trash can by the toilet. He said he didn't even remember getting up, but he woke up while he was using the bathroom in the trash.

Without really knowing your son or how old he is, this is a really hard question to answer. You could always take him to your family doctor if you are concerned.
