I think you are supposed to heat anything he eats to at least 180 degrees to kill any bacteria. Maybe you could try microwaving his poop before he eats it next time!

No he won't get sick. It's a gross habit to us but to dogs, unfortunately, it isn't - it's very common. Is this dog a puppy? Because some dogs do grow out of it. But in the meantime, you can try putting tabasco on it to deter him, or better yet, just keep a close eye on the dog, if you see him going for it, very firmly tell him no. You also need to be real quick to pick up your yard. This should help break him of the habit and get him on the road to stopping the habit.

It's a chance but try and clean up after it so you won't have to worry about you all getting E.coli or anything and just try to get him out of that habit okay good luck with that.

A dog eating its own or other fecal matter is a sign of a lack of minerals in the diet. Try getting some type of doggie vitiamin with minerals. Also, clean up the poop before he can eat it.

NOT UNLESS YOU EAT THE DOG DOODIE WITH HIM OR YOU PUT IT IN YOUR FOOD OR KISS THE DOG IN THE MOUTH WHILE HE HAS THE DOODIE IN IT. WASH YOUR HANDS AND FACE WITH ANTIBACTERIAL SOAP AND BRUSH YOUR TEETH AND RINSE THEM WITH LISTERINE OR THE LIKE. THEN SIT AND WAIT FOR A FEW DAYS TO SEE IF YOU DO OR DON'T GET E-COLI. AND DON'T EXPERIMENT, WE ARE NOT MEANT TO EAT DOODIE, ALTHOUGH SOME PEOPLE EAT IT ALL THE TIME(FIGURATIVELY SPEAKING).

No, you probaby won't get sick but he might throw up. My dogs do the same thing and sometimes they throw up - it's gross but not deadly. There are products you can buy to put in his food so it will make him not want to eat his own poo. One product that I can think of is called Forbid and, get this, it actually makes their poo taste bad. Good luck, I've got five dogs and two of them do this.

I doubt that, but if you dog is doing that, he's probably missing something in his diet. Try a better brand of dog food and maybe consult a vet.

He probably won't get sick from it, but you could try mixing canned pumkin in his dog food to stop him from doing that.

Don't let him do that, it's not safe. Make sure he has plenty to eat. ( I know someone who's dog did that, because they didn't feed her often.)
