If i were a so called moderate Muslim in these circumstances i would try to help in every possible way to bring up the image of Muslims around the world. At least in the country i live in. Instead of just saying every time a place is bombed "oh its only a few people, we are a peaceful religion, its only a few bad apples" I would actually give my life proving it is actually peace full, and retaliating to questions by being apologetic and defensive and reply by what about abortion clinics, what about Iraq, what about this..... what about that.... i would take the problem head on and first clear my house rather than reply by asking another stupid questions, if Christians did something wrong does that give u the excuse and the moral right to bomb everyone?. Do two wrongs make a right?? If fatwas are issued against the danish cartoonists and for all stupid reasons y cant they b issued against osama bin laden and the terrorists?? Who is more of a danger to world peace??. Instead of wasting my energy in protesting the popes remarks, i would come out on the street , all guns blazing, with as much vigor as Muslims hv against the cartoonist and pope, protesting against osama bin laden and his clan. I would state that There is absolutely NO justification for terrorism. I would like to reform the parts of the Koran that says death to all non believers, pay a head tax if Ur non Muslim, the law that says an eye for an eye hand for a hand....such kind of laws (even if they no longer are practiced i would remove them: in case if they are not followed y keep them) Give women more rights. Or if those things r misquoted i would want (not me, the learned people of course) to re-write them in such a way so as to not create a doubt in any ones mind. If there is any such clause in Koran of forcibly converting people to Islam i would remove it (as i dont believing in imposing ones faith on others). Strive for the total extermination of terrorists even if they r Muslims. And only after my house is in order i would hv some moral right to point out to others that whats wrong with their religion.

I am a Muslim and I don't run around burning churches, and I don't throw rocks when some cartoonist or religious leader portray our religion as being uncivilized.
I wonder of the following:
Non-Muslims religious leaders say bad things and lies about Islam to give the chance to Islamic extremists ( that I hate ) to burn churches, throw rocks and chant so that people say: look what Muslims do, they burn churches and throw rocks.
Stop insulting us, stop being so racists.
Wake up people
Wake up
Sincerely
Mike

Women and african americans spent years just sitting by and being told who they were and what they could do. Society believed minorities, the disabled and women were lower class for hundreds even thousands of years, but those same groups rose up and fought for equality and what was rightfully theirs as HUMAN BEINGS. Can you imagine what your life might be if sufferage hadn't happened? What id African American had sat back and the Civil Rights movement hadn't happened, there would be no Puffy, Beyonce, Condoleeza, Denzel Washington, or Hally Berry.

I just think it's ironic that Muslims are offended that someone links their religion to violence and they respond---with violence. It might be better if they talked to the people who think they are violent and showed them otherwise. Most people's opinions of any group depend on what they know of that group. What some Muslims have shown us lately is a pattern of violence and intolerance. That is not true of the entire Muslim community.

To the "donut": There is a HUGE difference between history and current events.
To answer the question, who knows what I would do IF I were muslim. Fortunately, I don't have to worry about IF, as I am NOT muslim.

If you were a Christian, would you protest agianst gays and blacks, would you be against abortion, would you think that god made man, and we don't evolve from monkeys, even though they recently found a 3 million year old skeleton of an ancestor of homo sapiens? Thought so.

That's one of the reasons I won't consider Islam. Too hateful. And Donut, don't believe the propaganda you've been fed.
