I need to set up a company breakfast tomorrow morning for some employees (about 30). The breakfast must be simple to prepare, yet VERY original and not too expensive.

I want something that people will remember (e.g. not gross, but very unusual for breakfast).

A previous breakfast idea was KFC with beer.. Get the idea??

PS: ideas with alcohol are okay.

By the way, just want to make sure what we're looking for: something where people will say "Ouch! We'll never call on you again to bring the breakfast!".

Fruits and stuff are nice... but it's TOO nice... Fruits are a good idea if you propose to mix them with, lets say, Fruit Loops in chocolate milk.

See what I mean? It has to be edible, but very far from bagels and cream cheese because it's just what people expect for a Friday morning breakfast.

How about a crock pot of chili with scrambled eggs in another crock pot? let everyone roll their own tortillas-have plenty of salsa-both the usual tomato based as well as fruit salsa? Maybe even have egg and sausage nachos, too. Serve with Corona in a bucket of ice. Froot Loops optional!

Why don't you get a chocolate fountain in (buy em for about £40 at argos) and put marshmallows and strawberries on sticks to dip in. You could put fingers of toast out as well. Serve with pitchers of Seabreeze (vodka, grapefruit juice and cranberry) - which would be refreshing for breakfast. For a savoury option serve 'breakfast kebabs' - thread cooked cherry tomatoes, chunks of sausage, mushrooms and black pudding onto skewers. As all the food is on skewers you only need to provide a big pile of napkins.

I'd do something with Champagne and Orange Juice. Have all kinds of fruit, bagels and cream cheese. Some fruit and cheese danishes and then order a pizza. hehehe

We do this at my office and it has become quite a competition. Some of the more interesting choices:

Make your own yogurt parfaits--bring yogurt, granola, and fruit.

All-green breakfast: Melon/grapes/kiwi, green eggs and ham, apple jacks cereal.

Elvis breakfast: Make your own peanut-butter-and-banana sandwiches

Make your own waffles--bring batter, fruit, syrup, and waffle iron.

One guy brings sausage, tater tots, biscuits & gravy, etc.--but he's a freak.

If you get desperate: Box of bagels and a bunch of bananas.
