Genesis 15
18
"On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram and said, "To your descendants I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates"

What if this was written by one of the high-level Jewish religious people and was not a statement of Abraham?

Excellent question, I think much of this stuff was written after the fact and then added to and subtracted from to fit whoever needed it

good thinking

The LORD made the statement. Abraham was reporting what the LORD told him. none of us can know exactly what was said or meant by these words. they may have had an entirely different meaning since there have been so many interpretations in language over the years.

Your hypothesis is too compound.

1) If (statement) was written by one of the high-level Jewish religious people, and (not) (a statement of Abraham) then (truth is).

2) If (statement) was written by Moses and (not) (a statement of Abraham) then (truth is)

If you are trying to raise doubt about a statement in the bible then you are in judgment of it. Read it and determine who wrote it. If your perspective is sceptical of divine authorship, so be it. Your opinion is not going to convince anyone who has faith to believe that it is divinely inspired.

It's a good question, but please remember about 70% of Scripture are taken up in account of Israel and Jews. The God of the Bible is called "the God of Israel" 203 times.

Truly, the Jews are chosen and Israel is God's land. For detailed reading on this check out:

What other people do you know of that have been conquered and removed from their homeland several time?
What other people have survived several attempts to exterminate them and are still around?
What other people after more than 1500 years of being dispersed then are given their homeland back to them?

God has chosen the Jews, and they will be around to see their God coming down from Heaven to save them, just as it is written in Revelation.

God has promised, God will do it!

What if the earth was hollow, and you could touch the sky?

"What if" is a worthless speculation. If you don't want to believe the Bible, that is your prerogative. But don't expect to convert anyone with nonsense like that.

It shows how decievable people really are. So many people are willing to live, die and kill for something that was just made up 2500 years ago by one person. One person really can make a difference!

The first 5 books were written by Moses dictated to him letter by letter by God!
