I think when you are sponsoring her you need to be able to show that you have enough money to provide for her.
You are already married, so they can't use love as an excuse.
You need to show that you are earning enough money so that when your wife comes you won't need to claim any benefits from the government, to show this you should show six months of your payslips, a tenancy agreement and a letter from the landlord saying that your wife can stay with you in your house, you should also send your wedding photos and any other proof that you have of your relationship together, if you can get statements from people like teachers etc then its good, anything you can give to prove your marriage, your love and your money will help you.
I am also going through this exact thing, my fiance will apply in January and until then I have to live alone (because my parents disowned me too) and work hard and I am only 20 years old and this is unbelieably hard for me, but I have to do it.
I wish you the best of luck with your application. I think it is a good idea if you can go with your wife and speak to them in person. Try your best. Don't give up. Good luck.

All I can suggest is going to the British Embassy or Consulate in person and pleading your case. Also, if you have had a permanent residency visa for a long enough time, you may be able to get British citizenship. This would certainly help your situation. Call the Home Office and find out if you are eligible.
I really wish you the best of luck. There are going to be a lot of people on here who will say mean and cruel things about foreigners coming to Britain, but I truly believe that if you come here legally and through the proper channels (which are long and arduous), you have every right to be here not matter who you are or where you're from. As an American in the UK, I found it very difficult getting all the proper visas and whatnot, even though I'm married to a Brit.
Good luck :o)

If this marriage can be truly proven to happened under false pretenses to achieve legal residency status in a court of law, the marriage becomes nullified under fraud and the illegal spouse could lose their green card and be transported out of the country due to committing a crime

I really sympathise with you. My fiance was sent back to Bangladesh this July. We had just started to plan our wedding. He hadn't done anything illegal, his visa had just expired and as he had been here for 6 years he could not renew it without returning to his home country. I can not go to Bangladesh with him as i know that our cultures are very different and i do not want to disrespect his parents and we do not wish to live there.
You need a good solicitor, my solicitor has told me that in order to prove that my relationship with my fiance is true love we have to provide evidence of our relationship (dated photographs, hallmarked greetings cards, letters and e-mails, international call cards and even written statements from people who know both of you) It is difficult and may take a very long time but i wish you all the best. Good luck, I hope your wife can return back safely to you soon.
People like Kerrie-Ann really need to broaden their horizon and open their eyes to the world.

If you travel back to India and re-apply while you are there. It differs from country to country.
Try asking from the Citizens Advice Bureau

true love doesn't care where you live!
if you loved her you would live in India.
sounds to me she just wants a ticket for the UK.
there are far too many immigrants of all kinds in this country right now. if you ask me there shouldn't be any!
go toddle off over there...bye bye

Why, oh why, don't you go back to your country of origin and try to improve the standard of life there? If you REALLY love this woman you would.
