In some cases, it is belived that Christians were never fed to the lions, and that it was a commonly accepted myth invented later on. So, in response to your second question, if the first form of 'entertainment' (feeding christians to the lions as you so imply) did not exist, then surely every other sort of entertainment, like comedy say, or music, is better than the first.
Just my opinion *shrugs*

You've never heard of Androcles- he was a Christian, who one day found an injured lion, with a thorn in his paw. Androcles, being a good Christian, pulled the thorn out.
One day Androcles was arrested for being a chsristian, and thrown to the lions. However when the lion was released, it recognised him as the person who helped it, and refused to attack. The emperor, upon seeing this, decide that Androcles was divinely protected, and released him, and gave him the lion as a present.
You must know that death means little for me, and other Christians, as we know that death is the result of the 'original' sin of Adam and Eve, but those who believe in Jesus Christ, the son of the Lord God, will be given eternal life in the Holy City. So death is a mere trivial event for me.
ANYONE who repents will be forgiven, including you.
But as for your question, I would quite happily die if only to affirm my faith. You would also have the animal rights activists complaining that such a show is cruel to the lion- the heat, the crowds putting stress on it...
You'd also have to find a charge on which to charge the Christians and then give them a trial, a fair trial. You'd also have to execute an awful lot of people.
God loves each and every one of us, including you. He will forgive.

relocate... the usa will be a better place if you leave.
move to pakistan and do some target practice,or perhaps indonesia ;;
news agencies have reported that from 15 to 17 Christians and a Muslim policeman were shot and killed in an attack on St. Dominic's Roman Church Oct. 28. Six masked men arrived on motorcycles at 9 a.m. just as the Church of Pakistan (Protestant) service was beginning in the Catholic sanctuary. The congregations have shared the building for the last 30 years.
According to the Associated Press (AP), the attack was the most lethal in memory against the country's small Christian community. Fourteen worshippers, their minister and a Muslim police officer guarding the church were slain on the spot. Two others reportedly died later and dozens are wounded.

108 Christians Massacred in Moluccas (Indonesia)
MORE than 100 people have been killed in the worst single outbreak of violence in 18 months of religious conflict in Indonesia's northern Molucca Islands.
The 108 Christians and eight Muslims were reported dead after an hour-long battle in the village of Duma on the mainly Christian island of Halmahera. Dozens more were seriously injured in the fighting, which subsided only after soldiers intervened belatedly to evacuate survivors.
Local residents said that the fighting broke out when Islamic fighters attacked Christian homes with guns and homemade bombs.
Witnesses described how the militants bombed a church to flush out villagers seeking refuge. An unknown number of women and children were kidnapped and 300 houses were burnt. Father Hadi, a local priest, said that many of the attackers were armed with military-issue automatic weapons, fuelling suspicions of military complicity. "It was a massacre by Muslims," he said. "They had automatic rifles but the Christians only had homemade weapons."

Very few if any Christians (other than those convicted of ordinary crimes) would have died in the arenas of Ancient Rome. Religious and political offenders were more normally executed in the Forum or in a designated place of execution. Civilians ie non-gladiators who fought in the arena would have included the Meridienes (mid-day fighters) who were just crims with weapons forced to fight each other or wild animals as a warm-up act.
So go and study you useless f**k-wit.

Hey 'Julia' -
Yeah - today we have violence in TV and Movies -
lots of blood and gore and writhing and screaming - it tends to 'desensitize' the human psyche, to the enviable position of creating REAL monsters, that can create - and then wreak unconscionable pain and anguish on other humans (and critters) without batting a proverbial feeling eye!
EDIT (add)
To Pianojo. . . (below this)
I rather like the $ sign in this user's spelling !!!! Appropriate for today, I feel.

Do you have some affliction that prevents you from typing the word CHRISTIANS without that silly use of the dollar sign?
Not to worry, I've just spotted your ".....entertainment thEn this?"
Just as I thought first time - lousy typing.
Then I just looked at your profile - is this that revenge you're on about?

I don't believe in feeding all so-called Christians to the lions, just ones like Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell who use the pulpit to further their political agenda, try to rob various groups (e.g. gays, women, etc.) of their rights, and make a profit.

This isn't the real Julia...This is a impostor. Didn't you know...Atheist can not think for themselves, so they take on the role of a Christian to make themselves feel good about themselves.
This is against the Yahoo guidelines...but as an Atheist, you don't feel you have to follow any rules. You are incapable.

Yes, actually, because it is a fact that there is no evidence whatsoever that this actually happened. True. From a show called QI with Stephen Fry, and he is a rediculously intelligent chap. So there you go. Yes!

The day is coming that we as the saints of the most high God shall once again be killed for his name...I will willing die for him...because he gave this life to begin with...many Christians think we wont be here for a time of tribulation but they are sadly mistaken...the bible is clear about it...
Revelations 6:9-11 .And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
10. And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
11. And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
So you see yes we will be killed again for his name sake ...and if that excites you ...I would seek the Lord ...that you would know him...because ...eternity is a long time without him...God bless
And tangerine...remember..the condemnation you condemn with you will also be condemned...get your eyes off of man and onto Jesus..
