My ideas? Try to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. Work hard, but don't over 60 minutes at a time. Do planks and other abs exercises on alternate days.
On training days, do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.
The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!
Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.
Read magazines like Shape, Womens Fitness, Fitness, etc to get tips and to stay motivated.
Good luck and stick at it. This plan has lost me 20 lbs in 12 weeks so far, just go for it!

Eating bad is not cheaper! I will contest that until the ends of the earth, because I eat very healthy and VERY cheap.
Don't get sucked into the big grocery store's "Save on this!" or the "10% off if you buy 10!" or whatever they do to make you think you are buying cheap foods. You may be buying convenient foods, but I guarantee you, if you go to a small grocer, foreign-goods store, health-food store, or farmer's market, you can buy a big sack of rice, or beans, or pastas, and you can buy fresh vegetables and fruits at fruit stands.
Buying raw foods is always cheaper than buying processed foods. Granted, buying healthy processed foods is more expensive than buying unhealthy processed foods, but just don't buy processed foods in the first place. Actually do some cooking maybe... it's not so difficult.

The way i stay motivated is by how i look and feel when I'm in shape i feel great about myself and if i slide and start eating bad I feel crappy that's what works for me. Start out slow like walking 30 minutes a day and maybe join a gym ,as for the junk food just don't buy it .

You may also try classes at your gym. Like aerobics or cycling. Working with a group can help you get motivated.

the only way for me to stick with it is, I pay myself...I'm a member of a beautiful spa, with pool, sauna, steam room, and fantastic GYM, I go everyday......I'm on a very strict diet 3 day of the week...that works for me, be good to yourself....on the end of the week...I look it over, and if I did well.....I put 25 dollars in my piggy bank....I use money as a motivator....it works for me...
