This sort of nasty Christian piece about "unbelieving" couples who use the Christian wedding symbols made me think of it.

If you're not Christian, would you (or did you) have the white dress, the vows, the honeymoon, etc?

I've seen this, and just figured they were getting married the way they knew how, as products of American culture (and their mothers!).

I'm an Agnostic (was raised a protestant) and my partner is Buddhist. If we get married we'll have 2 ceremonies. One for ourselves and our other spiritual friends, just for vows, and a church wedding as well. It would break my mother and the rest of the families hearts if I didn't have one.

I'm Muslim in an Islam country. Here the women wear white dress. The wedding happens in a salon (not in a church and not near a graveyard)..The woman and man say that 'they'll love each other forever etc..then a man says that 'they married..Man kisses woman...Umm..And the guests dance and eat during the night..They give money and gold to man and woman....(And I don't have a Christian wedding, never) ;-)

I would never have a Christian style wedding, nor when I die will there be any type of funeral service.

No, I would have it in the Buddhist style, unless my wife was of from other religion and wanted it to be of hers.
