My experience here seems to point to the latter with such questions as "why isn't everyone a muslim?" "why are Christians really sun worshippers?" etc. All the time, the people asking these questions forget that they are converting noone, come across as morons and will shortly get ignored by all but those who agree with them.

I welcome others comments on the matter.

I think that there are a few that do ask questions for answers, however most are trying to convert others, or try to make themselves feel better about their religion by squashing others.

I think the person who asks the question should get to decided on who gets 2 points. Anyone just out to insult should get minus 2 points for every insult. That way people shall think before putting there tuppins worth in on a subject they understand very little about. I am in favour of free speech but its all just become a slagging match. I see people asking decent questions and getting slated in the process. The people that slate them are after 2 points so they can gain a level and ask more insulting questions against others beliefs.

I have noticed a lot of people trying to provoke and insult others because of their beliefs. If you do not like what I believe that is fine...but, why attack me or call me names? If you ask a real question, there are tons of people who just answer ignorantly anyway. They don't give a real opinion they just insult. When people ask, I give an answer that sometimes can include my beliefs. When I ask questions, I want real answers. Not people just waiting to pounce. So you don't believe the same way I do... but, what is your real opinion on the matter.

It happens the other way around too. People ask questions like, "Will I see you in heaven if you are not saved and I am?".

Personally I like to ask questions that might challenge somone to think about thier own beliefs, but I try not to do so in an antogonistic way. Even so, people often reply to my questions as though I am being antogonistic.

I question because I am interested in what others believe.
I may have my own versions, but that does not make me right, or them wrong.
I ask because the more information I have, the more I can round out the square ideas, or non-understandable questions.

Most of them aren't really questions in the true sense - more a diatribe about what they imagine is something that happened a while ago and is all man-made anyway !!!

I have read a few questions that seem to be sincere, however I have noticed an awful lot of bashing going on.
