Here is my experience.
A warm summer day, I found a river or large creek within close vicinity of where I live. I scouted out a nice section of the river where it was tranquil serene and no chance of intruders, very private. I prepare a picnic lunch in a weaved basket with fruits, crackers cheese, a bottle of red wine, a large plaid blanket and surprised my date with a picnic by the river. The warm summer day by a babbling brook under the shade of the large oak tree set up a perfect setting to just relax and enjoy each others company.
I spread out the blanket and prepared our snacks and wine and the mood was one of such romance and tranquility that the afternoon was one we cherished and repeated over again and again. I even took some old fishing rods, through them in the nearby bush so we fished, "very little" skinny dipped and then laid back and made ,love with only the sounds of the river the passing breeze in the trees and the gentle moan of my girlfriend.
I know you requested for women to respond only, but men can be very romantic as well.
Just imagine that, would you not love a tranquil afternoon of romance in the setting as described. We were best friends, became lovers, and have now been married for 22 years.

The most romantic time of my life... this is going to sound stupid, but it's true. My boyfriend's car was in the shop, so we didn't have transportation. He took me by the had and led me outside and started to walk down the road. We ended up at this local burger place (I know, it doesn't sound too romantic, but it really was) and had a nice meal. Then we started walking back. It was August, and there was heat lightning and shooting stars. It was a perfectly calm, still, dark night, so we could see all of this. He took me out for icecream and we walked back to his house eating it. It sounds dumb, but that stands out in my memory as the most romantic night of my life, because of the perfect feeling in my heart, that there was nothing else in this world except me and him, walking at night, eating icecream and holding hands.

The most romantic incident in my life was when me and my first boyfriend kissed passionately for the first time. (It was sooooo romantic and it was my first kiss.) It felt like we were pros and that we've done this before when in actuality we haven't.
