Spaghetti or some other form of pasta. Don't just use the cheap can sauce. 1 large can diced tomatoes, 1 large can tomato paste, 1 pound of beef (brown it before you add sauce and stuff), 1 small bell pepper (diced), 1/2 onion (diced), some salt, pepper, and oregano. Cook everything together except the tomato stuff. When it is all tender, turn the heat down and simmer for a while, stirring to keep from sticking to the pan. Serve on a small table for two with two candles and flowers. Serve with a classy white wine. Go all out!
Good luck and have fun!

I wouldn't do anything too complicated. Get a ready stuffed fish from Sainsbury's and pop it into the oven. Serve with with fresh green salad.
For afters I would serve fresh fruit salad (drop a bit of cognac in the juice) with fresh cream.
Hope the evening is a success

well first off find out what she likes - not much point doing a roast only to find out shes a veggie!
Keep it simple - dont be going elaborate and foreign - not everyone goes for those kinda dishes.
And of course - Im assuming you CAN actually cook!!!!
Potatoes, a few veg and a bit of chicken or something - plain and simple! With a nice bottle of vino!
