...Before Christ: I was secure in my surroundings and the people who loved me. There were problems, like divorce and mental illness. My dad was a great provider, and remarried. My stepmother and I fought and fought. I was a churchgoer as a young teen, but stopped going after while, and so did my friends – marijuana and other drugs destroyed the church youth group. I ran around with friends who my father really wouldn't have approved of if he knew, and we drank alcohol illegally and smoked cigarettes. My dad didn't really know what to do with me.
…After high school, many things started to change, and I could not stop them. My friends left for college, and family members were moving away. I felt I had nothing to hold on to, nothing I could trust in, nothing that would stay around forever; I also was not sure about right and wrong, so I started to read the Bible. It was just what I was looking for, and I tried to do in my strength – a miserable failure.
...When I met Christ…I talked to a Pastor friend of mine, and I told him I was not happy - and he asked me if I was Christian. We talked for a while, and that afternoon, I prayed asked Jesus to save me and to make me the kind of person He wanted me to be.
...After Christ: I am secure in Christ and in God's promises. He has promised never to leave me or forsake me. He empowers me to live right, and shows Himself strong in my weaknesses (I have several physical problems –diabetes, ½ blind, bi-polar). His word is my guidebook for life, and He promised me eternal life in Christ, as a free gift, so I am Heaven-bound.
...I married a fantastic Christian lady and we have 3 great kids, all teens now. I reconciled with my parents (my dad, mom, and stepmother), saw my dad recommit his life to Christ, and had many years of sweet fellowship with Dad before he died. My brother and his family are solid believers in Christ, too.
...Real life to me now is to know Jesus and live for Him each, by His grace.

meeting Jesus stopped me flirting and damaging my marriage, instantly. I was healed of depression instantly when I converted. I dont worry about what other people think of me, only God. I have stayed married despite hubby's infidelity because I believe in forgiveness. I have forgiven people who have hurt me and they no longer have any power over me. I go every day knowing God wants the best for me even when I can't hear him and I try to do things my way. I have a big family through the church which has helped me learn to relate to all people.
My faith has shaped my thoughts and actions for the past 4 years or so, changed my life totally.

My faith in God has given me purpose for living, and this is only to be found in the Lord Jesus Christ.

God has given me hope, peace comfort and the assurance of a home in Heaven when my body dies.

He directs my paths, and works out His plan for my life.

He comforts me in my sorrows

He has given me beauty for ashes, oil of joy for mourning, and a garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.

I was raised a Christian. The things I read, lived, and learned as a Christian completely changed me. I am now an atheist.

I have confidence, joy, peace, love, compassion. I used to be depressed and have low self-esteem. I had a really bad childhood but God has healed me and set me free. I love Him b/c He first loved me and pulled me out of my mess.

Love in Jesus' name

For one thing, I don't worry where I am going... to Heaven.
So I am pretty mellow and don't get too excited anymore.
