A good healthful diet can help a person handle stress better. Lots of fresh vegetables, fruits and whole grains and no caffeine, alcohol or cigarettes create a healthy immune system. Then stress bothers the person less.

Different for each person. When stressed some will over eat and for others the appetite shuts down and they eat little or nothing.

Some people either overeat, using food to make them feel better.
Other people stop eating when they are stressed which leads to problems as well.
