Classical would be absolutely perfect. Very soothing and romantic for a garden wedding. Congratulations!

I've got the best idea for you of all. I really do! How can I be so sure? I 'm a professional classical guitarist, and I've performed at hundreds of weddings.
Are you ready?
Hire a brass quintet from the local University. Call the music department and ask them to get you in touch with the Faculty Brass Quintet. If they're too expensive, ask that they put you in touch with a student quintet. These are totally excellent musicians (Faculty and student).
You're having a garden, outdoor, wedding. Therefore loud instruments are appropriate. Brass will project very well outside, and they don't have to amplify. Amplification calls for cords to be run. They are usually ORANGE and just don't look that good.
As to what to play, do stick with classical music. Pop will not sound very good when you watch that video 20 years hence. As far as what to play, consult with the Brass quintet about that. NO one knows the repertoire better than they do.
The Pachelbel Canon has become as stereotypical as the wedding march itself. I play it all the time. On solo guitar!!! ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzz do something else!

I was at a wedding in July and the bride walked down the aisle to the wedding march. Everyone thought it was very unoriginal. I would suggest picking a classical piece that you really enjoy.

I am getting married in church in December this year and I am walking down the aisle to Pachabels (sp?) Canon in D. It is a beautiful classical piece of music, personally I really don't like the wedding march, (hope this doesn't offend anyone)!
We are signing the register to Kissing You by Des'ree and walking out to The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba (also a classical piece).

I don't think the Wedding March is traditional anywhere but in movies and on TV. I've seen it done at a couple of weddings, but it wasn't met very well. I would rather use something a bit more original. Go to the forums at www.etiquettehell.com - they can give great suggestions on processional and recessional music - they have great tips on everything to do with weddings :)
Good luck and congratulations!

You don't have to use either. Most weddings today are non-traditional. You can walk down the aisle on a love song that is special to you and your fiance'. I went to a wedding once where the bride walked down the aisle to "You Are So Beautiful" while her husband walked to meet her. That was very touching.

Wedding march is boring now a days, my friend had playing Wifey by next, it was really nice. Chose 2 songs you both really like and have one as your wedding march music and one for your first dance. Be different.
All the best choosing.

It's your decision!!! I think Air on a G String is nice or Mendelssohns wedding march. Pachelbels Canon just drags!!!!
When you leave with ur husband after the service you have to pick a song people remember i went to a wedding last year and they left the church to I just wanna make love to you by Etta James, it made me giggle but at least it was remembered
