Rev 1:1 shows that Jesus couldn't be God.
It is God's Revelation, which He gave to Jesus, who in turn gave to the Angel, who passed it on to John.
The angel who in heaven knows both God and Jesus, said to worship God.
Since God used prophecy to show who the Messiah (Christ) would be, Jesus being the Messiah is spirit of prophecy.
The angel being a creation, is not to be worshiped.

John saw an angel that was going to give him the Revelation of Jesus Christ. The Angel is a created being and would not accept worship. Worship is due only to God. If the Angel accepted worship he would be wrong. The angel was making clear to John that the angel was a messenger and not God.

Easily: the person speaking to John at Rev. 19 10 and Rev. 22:9 was an angel, not God. Rev. 22:8 proves this:
8 Now I, John, saw and heard these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the ANGEL who showed me these things.
Do not confuse this angel with Jesus; He clearly tells us in Revelation that He is God.
Peace.

I will do the best I can, Before the 7th seal was opened, Jesus sat on the throne as our High Priest & mediator, Now Christ is off the Throne, & none other is God now sitting on the thone, Jesus is no longer a high Priest or mediator, Because he came off the throne, therefore he is with his BRIDE at the marriage supper, The one bows down to this angel(Jesus) Saying see thou do it not, I am thy fellowservent, & of thy Brethren, That have the testimony of Jesus, worship GOD, for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of Prophecy. Now Jesus is not tell the angel that Jesus has the testimony of Jesus Christ, but Jesus is referring to the fellowservents, they are the one that have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Therefore Jesus tells them to worship God, Because God now sits on the throne. That Jesus once sat on the throne, but no longer is sitting there, Because he came off that mercy seat To announce time shall be no more, that does not mean time will stop, but time for the Gentiles is over.

Just to help you in the future there are two things you need to help you understand the bible. One is that you will never fully understand the bible without the guidance of the holy spirit which comes through salvation. Two is just as a general rule if a ceratin verse is read out of context you never really get a full picture, always read 3 before and three after to get the full picture.
To answet you question you have to use that rule. In the previous verses god is using the parable of the groom and bride. This verse is showing jesus as the servant, the groom to the church. The one that John falls to is a messenger, a servant ...not god

John had fallen at the feet of the messenger angel to worship him.
The angel promptly set him straight and told him that he was his fellowservant.
He would not accept his worship and for good reason.
He would have been punished for it as the fallen angels will be.
John was under the false notion that the angel was a god,but they were equals in God.They both served God.
The angel was there doing the business of Jesus and not for his own aggrandizement.
He even called John his brethren or his brother in Christ.

Yes, the speaker was not God, though the listener must have thought he was and tried to worship him. So the speaker corrected him and told him to worship God and maintain a testimony of Jesus.

Overwhelmed by this magnificent vision, John collapsed in worship before the messenger, an angel. The angel then exhorted John to worship only God.

It was an angel. We are not to worship angels. They are servents to God just like us.
The spirit of prophecy is the testimony of Jesus. The prophecy is that He is Coming Again.
Believe that!
Love in Jesus' name

This is an Angel speaking with the authority of God. If you would read the other translations, it becomes more clear. The Angel comes and says a message from God as if he is God. This is how the prophets do it in scripture as well. "Thus saith the Lord..." The person writing it isn't the Lord, just speaking on behalf of.
