Coming from a woman (me), I often wonder this statement myself. What does it REALLY mean?!

My interpretation is this, so take it or leave it: Women in general aren't able to be bluntly honest. They play head games and "beat around the bush" while expecting men to be the opposite.

Example: Woman states she wants a 'nice guy'. She finds him, decides after a time (however long that is) that she doesn't like him anymore, and says "you're too nice." Thus, leaving the man bewildered.

Translation? The man isn't what she's wanting. What she *IS* wanting, she herself more than likely doesn't know. But, she isn't able to just come out, say it, and be honest. She must play head games.

My heart goes out to confused men such as yourself.

I hope this helps you.

Yup, she's probably looking for someone who's a bit of a bad boy ... which probably also means that she's either a bit of a committmentphobe or a bit self-destructive. Nice in womanspeak often means things like stable, kind, generous, possibly a little dull (ie not viewed as the type to be self-absorbed misogynist bastards who will keep us on a string at their leisure), but good guys. Nice is often viewed as a bad thing for some inexplicable reason, you'll often just end up as friends. Hang on in there though, there are some of us ladies out there who are looking to settle down with someone nice.

***Now the real question is, are you naughty or nice? Sounds to me like you're a great combination of both ... hmmmmm ... I like that ...

Being polite - just means you've done a nice thing or you're a nice person. Depending on context then, either you or what you've just done is something of which she approves - unless she is being sarcastic. I'm sure you would be able to tell if that is the case

it can mean different things depending on the view of life the woman has, i don't say anything i don't mean, but i have never used you're too nice to a guy, to me that is just a easy let down and would rather be your friend not any thing romantic.

That maybe you're a push over. People take advantage of nice people.

The next one who says that to you, just smack her very hard in the mouth a few times, she deserves it.
