There are APROXIMATLY 7 billion people on earth
of that:
33% are Christian
21% are Muslim
20% Hindu Muslims (yes, there is a difference)
2/10ths of 1% are Jewish
and 25 and 4/5ths % are Other Faith/ or no faith afiliation
I am so tired of so many on here saying that Christianity is miniscule and that they are not a prominent religion. They are the dominant religion on this earth like it or not. PLEASE get your facts before you sound off :)

You really DON'T know what you are talking about.. by your OWN attachment on the wikipedia website... it says the number one religion is Christianity... so the one source you site contradicts everything else you wrote completly validating MY point that YOU SHOULD GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!

You are incorrect.
Approximately one billion are protestant and one billion are catholic. Catholics & protestants do not consider each other Christians.
Muslims also split on doctrine.
Atheism is the largest unified belief/philosophy.

Wow - this is so incorrect. Muslims hold the highest. Then Christians. However, there is a difference in Christians. Catholics, Protestants, Baptist, Mormon, Latter Day, Watch Tower, etc. Quit lumping everyone together to suite your own need. Maybe this is why you guys had to rewrite the bible too. And you forgot to mention Bhuddist. But they also have several sects. IF you combined all of them like you did the Christians, they might be just as many.

The split came between Ishmael and Isaac, "Abraham's two sons. Ishmael was the son of Sarah's maidservant Hagar. Sarah told Abraham to go into the maidservant b/c she didn't think she would have a baby. God later gave Sarah a child as He promised.
Ishmael was jealous of Isaac and this caused a rift in the family so Abraham sent him and Hagar out.
Later the descendants of Ishmael started the Islam religion.
The descendant of Isaac is Jesus.
This is the main and most important split in religion.

Good point....you are right. Besides, the whole of North and South America is almost entirely Christian.
Finally, as I don't plan to ever put one foot on the ground in the middle east, Indonesia, North Africa or Pakistan anyway, why worry about the believes people there have ?

I also find it funny that Protestants don't like to call the Catholics Christians until it is time to count how many Christians there are..then they have no problem including them then.
