yes my son wakes up in the middle of the night with his legs hurting and my parents said that it was growing pains, but the doctor said it eas caused by playing running, jumping, climbing their muscles are still growing and that their little legs can't take all the strain. what i do for him i rub his legs till he falls asleep and i even put a little bit(little bit) of Ben gay on him that also seemed to help,so i really don't know if they are growing pains it will remain a mystery i guess.........

Yes my son wakes up and crys sometimes from this, it's just growing pains and it can be very painful. This happened to me as a child... a heating pad on low, supervised of course will make your childs legs feel better and also if its not too late at night a warm bath helps. Tell your children to wiggles their feet around because it helps relieve the pain. Good luck!

Yes, it's growing pains, especially if the child is going thru a big growth sput. I grew 6 inches in a month once, I think I was in 1st grade, and my mom tells me that I was up for hours at night crying because the backs of my legs hurt so badly.

I had them when I was growing and so does my daughter. We grow when we sleep that is why babies sleep so much. she gets achy in the evenings and I give her Tylenol to help before they get too bad while she sleeps. Otherwise I am up all night with her rubbing her legs and feet or giving her a warm bath. Growing pains can be excruciating.

What is childhood arthritis?
Childhood arthritis is a disease that occurs in children under the age of 16.
It causes pain, stiffness and swelling in one or more of the joints. This pain, stiffness and swelling is called inflammation. With childhood arthritis the inflammation lasts longer than six weeks, and is not caused by an injury or other illness.
Childhood arthritis is also called juvenile arthritis
Take your child for these tests, it could be your problem.
Good Luck.

My kids do that too. They have been checked at their pediatrician and everything is fine with them. Maybe it is growing pains, achey muscles from all their daily activity, and the way they are sleeping (their circulation).

Does your child limp? Did this just start happening? There is a condition called TOXIC SYNOVITIS it was just broadcasted on the news in the last month. Check it out and take your child to a doctor.
