Just the program is locked. The document itself is not locked. It can be opened on someone else's computer that has Word.

If you can't afford to purchase MS Word a great word processor that's free is made by OpenOffice. You can install the suite which includes Writer, very similar to Word and it will open you Word documents you can even save future documents in Word format with Writer. You can download it here: http://download.openoffice.org/2.0.3/index.html

Time's up. HEY, you knew when you BOUGHT that computer that you needed WORD. Why did you wait?

If you don't have a credit card, and can't buy it ON-LINE, then you will have to jump into your car and drive to STAPLES and buy it.

When you are installing software, or downloading... and you see the progress bar that promises that you have 10 seconds left.. then it changes to 15 seconds left? THAT's Microsoft Time.... THEY GOTCHA AGAIN!

You can copy the document onto a disk, or you can email it to someone to print out for you.

Go on Limewire and get a pirate copy of Word. This is illegal, but so are those MP3s you probably listen to ;)
