Spanish would be a good one to start with!

No second language is "easy" when it is your first real exposure to a different language. You'll find that the English language is the only one that is backwards and that there are just as many sayings and nuances in other languages as in the English language.

I now speak Spanish with proficiency and is quickly becoming the second language of the USA. That does not make the language 'good' but rather useful.

I originally took Spanish because I wanted to and enjoy learning. Not because it is easy or good. I particularly enjoy the rhythm of the language. I also wanted to better understand the songs by Enrique Iglesias and Duelo when they sang in Spanish.

I use it in my practice, and in the schools...especially when telling students to "slow down" in the Hall!

Base your decision on what language you want to learn. What language sounds neat to you?

Enjoy learning.

Since you already seem to know English, I would suggest you learn German.

1) It is a simple language with relatively easy Grammar

2) Every word is pronounced exactly the way it is spelt

3) It may not be the most popular language, but demand for this language is high

Spanish, Italian, and French are all considered to be Level 1 languages. This means they are the easiest to learn. If you work hard at it, you shouldn't take you too long. It only took me 4 months to become fluent in Spanish. Todo esta bien!
