No. Technically...the term RSVP is french...it means...Respondez S'il Vous Plait. In English...Respond Please.

Therefore...you should respond to the sender with your answer of...I will attend or I will not attend. There should either be a small card included (usually for wedding or formal events) or a telephone number, email or contact name if it is more informal...such as baby or bridal showers or even stag and doe events.
