Religions evolve to discourage understanding of other religions. For a religion to survive it needs to convince its adherents that theirs is the only true religion and that others are false and evil, and misinformation is the easiest way to do that.
You'll notice that the atheists generally DO understand people's religions - just as you'd expect if the misunderstanding is the product of religious misinformation campaigns.

To attempt to try to understand even one religion can be a life's work.
Personally I think too much energy and intelligence have been wasted on, what are simply, beliefs when there are some very real problems out there in the World that we should be concentrating on

That's simple enough. Everyone feels they are absolutely right in their choice of religion. They collect all the bad said about other religions and do not look into it with unbiased research (or at least, attempt to be unbiased). Most people refuse to be that open-minded, but expect other people of other faiths to be open-minded to their religion. It's a vicious circle and it takes more than just one person to break it.

I have studied almost every religion to some extent I think that each one hs a unique lesson to teach and that some people are better suited for certain rligions. We should try to learn about other religions: if we only ever learn one then how can we know that we are right?

Understanding isn't what matters,it's respecting that is key.I couldn't care less if no one gets where I'm coming from, just that they welcome me,anyway. And I try to remember what it feels like to be treated badly when I want to get on my soapbox with someone else, religion or not.Oh,and it's because of this multi-cultural society that we are like this. When everyone was pretty much the same, they got along better.People of different religions have always clashed.

The religions are easy enough to understand - they are all delusions. Since they aren't grounded in reality, people keep fighting over which delusion is best because there is no way to prove anything at all about any of them. Once people get infected with delusion, reason goes out the window.

I believe that Jesus came to earth to free us from religions. He wanted to teach us to have a personal relationship with God. Religion does not save you, Jesus saves.
Everyone does not want to be saved by Jesus. We ought to respect their choice. God gave us a free will. That is the greatest way to love...with a choice. And He will respect our choice.

diversity will be the death, not only of a great nation, but of the liberal fools who invite the diversity. homosexuality is killing the traditional family, upon which all good and strong civilizations were built. the liberal fools fail to realize that Islam represents their execution. the kidnapping of foreign journalists proves that very fact. Islam rejects homosexuality ( which is commendable ), but, unlike Christianity, WILL NOT TOLERATE IT. you homosexual liberals are EXECUTED in Muslim countries, you idiots!!!!! maybe you homosexuals are so degenerate that you are masochistic; maybe you want to be decapitated!!!!!!!
