That's why I get these little books called Daily Bread. You read a verse or two in the bible go back to this book and it will break it down into something I can understand.

I don't understand the The Grapes of Wrath. I've never read the book, I have never studied the book, I know nothing of the author nor could I even tell you who wrote it. I don't know the time period of when the book was written or what time period the book takes place. I would be willing to be that if I read the book, study the book, learn a little about the author, the time period the book was written and the time period the book takes place I would understand the book. I bet I might even be able to find a Grapes of Wrath study guide. I bet there are people who have read the book and can tell me a little about it.
If you want to understand the Bible you have to read it, study it, learn things about the culture, time period and people being mentioned. A church or Bible study group would be a great place to start.

Try to find a Bible that is easier to understand I say this before I even know which version you are reading...duh :/
I found the easiest for me is the
New Revised Standard Version

It might help if you try to stick to maybe one book until you understand it fully.
It helps to read and desifer with someone else too.
Keep it fun, there is alot of joy, and peace, and Love found in the Bible, and so many wonderful things.

Holy Spirit guide you*

there is plenty that can be understood. I am an atheist, I can understand it quite well. Its pretty straight forward. Although there are some parables , like the gospel of Mark is a parable itself. Christians dont understand that i guess
Paul doesnt have a physical resurection belief
Paul knows nothing about Jesus as an actual historic earthly figure.
Mathew copies from Mark some 600 verses of marks original 666
2 Peter is a forgery
Daniel chapter 1 -6 is someone writing about daniel, 7 -12 is someone claiming to now be daniel.
It describes the earth as being flat
It says In the begining the GODS(the Elohim) created the heavens and the earth.
its simple if you study it.

Let the Holy Spirit come to your heart and you start to see things the Bible different way. Surround yourself with people who know more about the Bible. Attend the church regularly, that will help too.

The Bible is for everyone. It is God's love letters for us. As it was written by humans, it was inspired by God.

Start reading from the New Testament. We are under the new covenant.

I think you have need of further study.

The majority of the bible is easily understood if one desires to understand it.

It is the belief in what the bible says that is hard to understand.
