The only difference other than the obvious is size. Rectal thermometers are actually thicker than oral thermometers. Check for yourself by comparing the two.

Oral for mouth, rectal for bottom. A rectal thermomater is the most acurate way to take your tempature. BUT dont let go of the thermomater or your a$$ will suck it up. NO JOKE!

Spelling and of course its usage... oral is for the mouth and rectal is for the rectum.

oral goes in your mouth and rectal goes up your bum. i think. or its the other way round.
