honestly .. I can say that I did not believe in god only by messengers and holy books .. because I think one should believe by other ways before using these two ways ..
I have many evidences that god exists .. but I know no one of it can convince you ..
I think the main difference between atheists and religiouses is that first group waiting for anothers to prove god existence .. while second group they theyselves try to prove god existence ..
and I think it is a very serious subject .. it is not a game ..
believe ---> heaven // not believe ----> hell ....
I suggest you try yourself to prove that god exists .. or is it impossible that god exists ... really it is a serious subject ...

I think what your saying is that people should search and question and allow their minds to open up to different aspects of spirituality .
i think this is a wise observance ,most people who are in organised religion simply let everyone else do the talking or were brought up with this already implanted in thier mind ....it is called blind faith .
atheists also might be more open to the possibility that their is something out their if only to have an understanding of why people feel they need a belief system ....
i simply feel i dont have to prove anything ,say anything ,i try very hard in my life to simply be an example ,work hard ,work on myself ,stop some of the bad habits that are so human .
and try to be tolerant and kind to those that are different then me ,but i rarely expound my beliefs inless asked .

I once believed I KNEW god existed and Jesus was his son. I did study inorder to find my proofs so as to be a better witness. What I discovered was that its rubbish.
Your right, it is important still. If only to help religious people to see the damage of such beliefs
I dont know if a 'God' or 'Gods' exist, I do know that Abraham religions are mythology.

there are many things that DO exist that can't be proved.. for an example: a thought.
a thought does exist, but can you touch it? see it? hold it? smell it? taste it? can you prove to anyone that you had a thought? then by all calculations, a thought does not exist. many people claim to have had a thought, are they liars?
