on my way home from work I picked up some things from the convenience store, the cashier decied to stuff it all in one weak bag, so of course when I went to pick up the bag, the milk slid out of the bag and broke on the floor, I say this was not my fault and should have a new milk, he says no I have to pay for a new one, after a heated debate I walk out milkless, what do you think?

You need to go back to the manager. This clerk is obviously unqualified to work with the public.

They owe you a gallon of milk. Make them give it to you.

The manager would have probably given you a new one with a little calm conversation. I wouldn't have left but...you may be able to go back for another attempt if it's important to you.

Faulty bags aren't your fault.

Well its just an accident..Nothing else..Both way u both are responsible n not too.
If he would have understood the sensitivity of the product he wudn't have been put it like that way..N if u wud a little cautious then also it wudn't have happened.
So buddy both f u r responsible n both f u r not.So frgt it n carry on, but next time a bit careful

He was wrong. Call the manager. If he doesn't make it right, don't use this store and advise everyone you know to avoid it also.

Also, complain to either the owner or the home office depending on ownership.

I think the cashier should pay out of pocket for not double bagging.

The grocery store owner should definitely give you a new one and pay for it himself. It's called the cost of doing business.
