I was "born" an alcoholic however I clearly have to turn away (repent) from my propensity to defile myself. Once I had some sobriety under my belt, I realized how stupid my behaviour was. Could that be the same for the Fagilas?

If I was "born" angry...
If I was "born" ____ Fill in the blank.

This is not meant to be disparaging. Looking for some real insight as to why that lifestyle is chosen. Could they be cured of their mental illness?

i agree with your premise, but the "PC" gestapo wont even entertain your line of thinking.

prepare for a lot of backlash from this question as modern society has told these people that they are the righteous and you are ignorant for not condoning abhorrent behavior

gays could resist acting on their feelings much in the same way that i resist cheating on my wife with other women i am attracted to.

How can anyone be anything until they experience it the first time. That's always been the lamest excuse I have ever heard. The only way that crap flies is if I'm born with a tail, I can say LOOK AT MY TAIL, I was born this way! Sex for man in an unborn state is always a curious thing. Anyone who denies that their mind has not run wild at times is a liar. The difference is for those who try it and then say, Hey I liked that, it felt pretty good, I think I'll do it some more. Just as many try it and say, man I don't ever want to do that again, it was uncomfortable and nasty and go the other way. Sex for the lost is just that SEX. Why even label it? If you find the Lord Jesus Christ it's going to change anyway. Sin is sin is sin is sin.

It never ceases to amaze me. Why do people sit around and wonder about why homosexuals do what they do? It's not a mental illness. Just because you do not like what they do, does not mean those people are sick. It is not like alcoholism. I wish it was that easy to just call people, who live in a way that I don't like, retarded or mentally ill. I could write off half the world by doing that. And would make an excellent excuse to ignore certain others, because obviously they are just "mentally ill".

I don't see how you can be born an alcoholic, that is an addiction caused by continuous consumption of alcohol. The generally accepted cause of homosexuality is genetic. There are no genes that determine an addiction to alcohol so your argument is moot.

Also, you're suggesting that gay people have the choice to just stop being gay and all-of-a-sudden be sexually attracted to the opposite sex. It's not something that can just be chosen, it would be the same as a straight person trying to choose to be attracted to a person of the same sex. You cannot go against it anymore than go against the colour of your own eyes, or the colour of your skin.

Well of course you mean to be disparaging! If I were to answer your question with same level of ignorance-induced disrespect and insult with which you have deemed it so necessary to ask, perhaps you would gain some "useful insight" into your propensity to judge that which you quite obviously don't understand...now that's stupid! Homosexuals do not choose to be gay as one might choose to drink. They are not mentally ill nor do they have a need to repent for a part of their being for which they have already been made to suffer entire lifetimes due to the narrow-mindedness of beliefs such as your own. It is the bravest of souls who learns to accept themselves for who they are and refuse to pretend or repress it for acceptance sake. It would be like asking an Asian man to pretend to be a Hispanic woman. It's not just something they choose to do...it's who they are. Open your mind and the insight will come.

why are you trying to take your anger out on homosexuals?i was born an alcoholic too but i have managed to over come it at long last and have being sober for 4 years now,i had to give it up or i would have died, just like the many thousands it has already taken, alcohol is evil stuff as it destroys every organ in your body, not to mention the heartache caused to many families, also the battered wives etc etc.But what is so wrong with being a homosexual,I'm not one but have friends that are,and they are very caring people, they are not ill by any means how you came to this conclusion i have no idea

Even if heterosexuauals are born that way is that an excuse tio think they are superior to others. Homosexuality is not a feeling. Its life. Mental illness is often characterised by non acceptance fear refusal to take personal responsibility, and fear, Like you

I hope this is a question to just upset people and not serious. It is not an illness or even wrong. That's just like saying black people shouldn't be black. It's not possible or anything you should be judged on. They are a minority who are picked on for no good reason. My brother is gay and he is an amazing person for having to put up with people who are uneducated on his lifestyle. People like you just make me respect the gay community more for having to deal with all the closed minded views and hurtful comments which I know I would hate to deal with.

Who says homosexuality is a mental illness? Not even the American Psychiatric Association see it as such.

And where do homosexual babies come from? It occurs in Nature and since all things come from God, you tell me why God has chosen this course of action

Homosexuality is not a mental illness. Homosexuality is a natural part of the animal kingdom, including the human animal branch.

You were not "born" prejudiced but you let yourself become so.

Nobody is born with this and that. There are no born homosexuals and neither are there born alcoholics.

Homosexual behavior is the result, not of a genetic predisposition, but a complex set of psycho-social factors which include exclusivist introvert behavior and societal discrimination.
There was this guy, neither gay nor heterosexual, thinking of exalted things. One day his secondary school teacher punished him unfairly for an error in judgement. He was not saved by any of his friends. A girl came forward to help him to present the truth in an enlightened manner to the teacher(a male).

A few years later I found him in the company of girls alone and no boys. He was supposed to be gay when he was 17. A gay guy just noticed his behavioral change and preyed on him. The moment of truth tells you how and why.
