Do you think it would be a good idea to meet single men at a town meeting of some sort? Is there anyone out there that have met a well to do man by chance at a meeting?

Best way tomeet someone single is to join an activity that YOU enjoy.....that way you will meet someone with an interest you both will enjoy.

As a single man who is in much the same situation as you I would say the same thing about single women! Where are they? Only since I live on a ranch miles from anywhere the problem for me is that there really and Truly isn't any around. If you live in a city though there really ought to be opportunities to meet available men. Take a photography class at a local college or even a class in "single living", join a club of some kind that also appeals to men, join a co-ed bowling or softball league or other type of activity. Do anything, outside of going to bars, that puts you into a social environment where you can just make friends. The more friends and acquaintances you make the higher the chances are that one of them will be your guy.

The best place to meet a man is at a bookstore. They are everywhere. It is also very easy to strive up a conversation... "Have you read this book?", "I've read that book and I think...", "Do you know where the Romance section is?", etc. Give yourself a few hours, look pretty (not trashy), and head out to your nearest big bookstore.
I am married and not looking, but I find it very easy to strike up conversations with men in bookstores. They all seem eager and open. And lonely.

maybe, but go out and enjoy life and you will eventually meet men. just like one of the people said, when a guy sees a woman sitting by herself a guy will go and talk with her to get her attention focused on them.

your best bet is to go to a place alone (maybe a pub/club) no man can resist chatting up a girl sitting alone. you can have your pick.

I've had men approach me at dances and at a restaurant. Go for it, you never know who's eye you will catch.
