following on from my question: 'is it right to light a cigarette for someone who is underage?' is it right to hit kids who throw insults at you and threaten you?
if so, how old is the youngest i can hit (I'm 19)?

Well I can speak from experience lighting a cigarette is not only stupid, but I wish someone had knocked me down and said why are you doing this to yourself? because I started when I was 15 and now I am 34 and this has been one of the hardest things to cope with. Even though I had stopped for 6 years in between then and now, I was once again taken for a weak moment to light another. So make sure you are'nt being the one who either lights or smokes cigarettes for anyone. The problems are extensive even though you may feel fine, you only lie to yourself to have any reason to smoke. Once again, anyone who throws insults and threatens you is probably someone to avoid altogether. If this becomes increasingly hard to do you and I stress you! have to be the one who goes through all the right channels to make sure that if it becomes more than just words, that you have explained that this individual is causing you both physical and emotional stress to the point of having to defend yourself. Make sure that you are not alone and that you are not the only one who knows that you are dealing with this problem. (Parents, Teachers, Friends, any Peer or Figure of Authority). That is the best way to eliminate any further mental anguish that you are feeling because it is probably getting to you now seeing as how you are asking this question. Never just hit to be hit and make sure that you are'nt alone when and if this has to come to terms because there is no age limit on hitting another individual without facing serious consequenses these days.

No it is not okay to "hit kids" it is okay however for a PARENT or someone AUTHORIZED by the PARENT to discipline a child. I'm talking about spanking, not beating or maiming but a good old fashioned butt whooping.
If you are talking about a playground fight- well that's a different story.
Why do you want to hit someone? You realize you can be charged with assault right? You better get a grip on your temper before you waste your youth in jail for "hitting" some kid.

If you hit them on the hand for discipline, then yes. No, you should not light a cigarette for an underage. Let them try to hit first, then defend your body and hit back.

you can't hit kids that aren't yours! It is wrong to light a ciggy for kids. It must be against the law. If you were a parent then there's no age restricion when it comes to bashing their heads against a wall, or something. They should learn to use their common sence as they grow up so that they don't have to get wacked!
Yes it is ok to hit kids, but only as the last possible resource. If warning them at least three times fails...bash on!

It is definitely right to hit kids. You can start with a ten year old. Then it has a head start in turning out allright.

I believe that it is appropriate for the parent of a child to hit a kid. It is not appropriate for anyone else in society to leverage corporal punishment on another indiviual whether they are kids or adults.

OMG....violence is so not the way to solve any issues. It is wrong to help a minor smoke or drink in any way. It is MOST definitely wrong to hit a person whether they are young or older then you. I think you need to step back and think of how you can resolve the problem.....hitting will only get you charged and even jailed. Who is anyone to hit and hurt another person just because your mad or pissed at them!!!!

You can't hit kids. And you can't light cigarettes for them either. I think you should just stay away from children altogether.

It's not right to hit anyone and certainly not kids. Resorting to violence is bad and wrong. Be a bigger person and don't stoop down to their level (or in this case, below it).
