How do i talk to my dad when he never call or come over to see me?

He never got me anything for my sweet 16 ,17, 18 birthday. whille he got my brother every thing that he wanted for his birthday

I have a similar situation. I moved approx. 100 miles from my mother this past summer. I have a son who ( obviously ) moved with me. Well, I was debating on my son staying here with me and going to school or going back to live with my mother t stay at the same school. In the end I decided it was the best ( not to mention ) the smartest thing for him to stay here. When I told my mother that she hung up on me and I haven't spoken to here since. She knows where I live, my phone #, and even my email address but she doesn't contact me. I've tried to talk to her but she gives short one word answers. How can someone have a conversation with someone who obviously doesn't want to talk. In order to have ANY relationship two people have to be involved. Yes, it hurts to not have her in my life but I have learned that I can't force her to. If you can find out what may be stopping your dad from having/wanting a relationship with you. If that isn't possible realize that you aren't to blame. I know it's difficult. Trust me. But you can only do so much and once you have and that person still doesn't want a relationship they best thing to do is go on with life. As long as you can look yourself in the mirror and say that you tried your best then your are the best! Good Luck!

Well, you could start by asking him why he got your brother everything and never got you anything. Explain to him how that made you feel. Then, if you want a relationship with him, you get over it. If not, then you've had your say and can forget about him.

i would talk to him ask him why he is doing like that don't push him away from you're life.
i had the same with my father he never called me,come to me are send anything to me. i always kept trying till i got sick of it and stopped trying what i regret now.
i never told him that i loved him, that i cared about him and i will never have the Chance again cause he died.
if you want to stop trying than say everything that you want to say to him say it cause after it is gonna be too late cause this can happen to everybody! but nobody ever thinks of it till it happened to them.

Write him a letter. Tell him how you feel. Things to avoid saying... "You never...". Instead use phrases such as "I feel this way when you...", etc. Don't be mean. Write it. Set it aside for a day and pick it up to read it again when your emotions aren't so high. If it still sounds good, send it. Good luck.

Your dad better be careful about showing favoritism. There may come a time in his life when he'll need his kids and the one that he favored may tell him where to stick it and the one that he shunned may be the one that is there for him. He needs to stop and think about that.

is your brother younger? maybe he is feeling guilty that he didnt get you something? Actually you shouldnt think he doenst love you because you got no gift. If he doenst come to see you, why not go see him and talk to him he probably loves you alot more than you think.

normally they try and reach out to you
