right-click on the file and choose "open with" and then you can select which program you want. To have the filed opened each time in the program you want, just right-click on the file, choose "properties", look in the "general" tab. There you will see a line that says "Opens with", select the "change" button and chose what program you like.

Go to the file and right-click on it
Select 'Open with..."
A menu will appear with all the program available to open that kind of a file
Select "Choose Program"
Select (or browse) to the program you want to use
Check the box at the bottom that says "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file"
Click OK
Any files that the same extension will now open with the selected program

What file are you trying to open and what program are you trying to open it with?

It is called File Association!
