I'm not sure if this is a one time thing or not. But if it's not,
All towns have noise ordinances that go into effect usually around 10 or 11pm. Go over or call and ask them to quiet down. If it doesn't get any better call the police and report them. They should respect you and the fact that most of America works during the week. Keep a tab on them and if it becomes a regular occurence, you should make an effort to let the police know every time they party and it gets too loud. They can get fined if it's a repeated offence.

If it was just one time I wouldn't make a big deal out of it. I'd try to sleep and if I couldn't, I'd stay up and use the time for something. It's ok if I'll be tired for one day, I can go to sleep earlier the next night. A one off is ok. However, if this happened very often I wouldn't be as tolerant of it. I'd probably start by going over and asking them nicely to turn it down and if that didn't work I'd call the police. If I had serious problems getting enough sleep because of constant parties I'd move somewhere else.

I've had this problem but from the partying side. If you call the cops before you talk to the people involved, you will cause resentment. If someone is keeping you up at night go talk to them. The cops at least here, don't even bust parties they tell you to keep it down. So, what you need to do is talk to your neighbor about your problem, and ask him for a phone number if he is ever loud again past a certain hour call him and ask him to keep it down. If that doesn't work then you may have to call the police, but talk to neighbor first.

call the police... if they say there is nothing they can do then.. do they rent... if yes call the landlord and tell him that for as long as you cant not sleep he will not sleep he has to take responsibilities for his tenant..if he owns the home then go to the police station and talk to a community police officer and find out what is the best way to go about getting the noise to an acceptable level... by the way that bull crap about an 11 o'clock curfew is just that.. if you read a lease.. the lease is specific about enjoyment of said tenements.

I would go next door explain to them your in a nice cival manner..
if the party didn't tame down to where you could sleep, I would call the land lord, complain, if it happens more than once or often, I would file small claims in courthouse against them for your rent, or a portion of rent, because they are infringinging on your privacy and rights to live in your home , you pay rent to be able to maintain your lifestyle which includes sleep, apparantly they are keeping you from the full benifits of your sheltered space and peace of mind .

Grab a bottle of wine / vodka / jackie D's / bud / all of the above * (*delete where appropriate) and a friend, go and enjoy yourself, then tell your boss the next morning that you have developed a mystery illness. So mysterious that it vanishes by the following morning, just like the milktray man...

If you're on speaking terms with them and this is a continual problem, I would ask them to please tone it down after 10pm. If speaking to them is not an option for whatever reason, call the police as many times as is necessary until they get the picture. If you're in an apartment building, speak to the landlord. He/she should speak to your neighbors and if the behavior continues, they should be evicted. You shouldn't have to move because someone else is acting irresponsibly. Good luck!

Cut their power supply. Or make up leaflets inviting people to their address every night maybe they'll move to another friends for their party. Otherwise go round with some mates a threaten to kick their heads in if they wake you again.

well...while they are partying it would be pointless to explain your self seeing as you can not reason with a drunk....i would however talk to them at a later date....My husband works shift work and sometimes our neighbor can be loud at night partying or his dogs barking none stop all day while he sleeps ( cause he works night shifts too) so he puts in these ear plugs that are made from foam, they can be bought at HOME DEPOT.....called pura-fit by moldex. Hope this helps you hun.

Dial 999 and get the police, keep doing it until they get fed up of you calling and do something to stop the neighbours noise.
