if it is a guy then the way he acts, dresses, way he has a sense for shopping, way he talks, where he goes out, what his hobbies r that kinda s**t! girls i dunno....knew a girl that was a lesbian i went to the cinema with a group of mates + she was invited she sat next to me + ask us all how many lads we'd snogged so we told her....she told us how many guys + went on to say how many girls.....well i jumped + never watched the film i was dying to go c was too busy making sure she didnt try feeling me up or summit....so thats how we found out about her....it was so hard 2 tell with her until she told us

Depends on why you want to know.... Usually a good test for me is....If I'm remotely interested in a bloke - he's probably gay! 90% of my friends are gay guys & almost every friendship started with me flirting with them! On the other hand if you are gay & only coming out now a little harmless flirtation should be sure to tell you. If they flirt back - then BINGO! if they don't even seem to notice then you're probably on the wrong track.
Thirdly, if its a family memebr or friend & you're just trying to figure out whether they are or aren't - try an honest conversation. They might be a bit taken aback at first but they'll soon see the funny side of it. Sometimes they're actually just waiting to be asked so that they can come clean - because they don't know how to start the conversation.

Mannerisms, dress, places they go ... there's no sure thing - they don't have a tattoo on their forehead or anything
Just look at Graham Norton and Julian Clary ... they exaggerate the way they are for TV but at least it gives you an idea. There's also the token gay on Corrie ... a bit OTT but still a good guide - but they're the feminine ones - the butch ones wear leather and chains and stuff!

go to a gay bar you are bound to find plenty of gay people in there for sure .Talk to a few and then you will get an idea of what to look for
