This is a question with which one should reflect upon. In earlier times the noble virtues of man were glorified. Today what are values that are glorified?

Sadly, I don't think any virtues are really glorified anymore. I am 34, and even in my short life I can remember a time when people valued their integrity and their honesty more than a dollar. I remember when many people had certain ethics and standards in business and in life. My mother says in her day there were many people people of virture than there have been in my days.

It seems to me that in America we have experienced a major moral breakdown with the decline of moral based belief systems (i.e. Christianity...) People are depressed and desperate, and very few seem to believe that there is any reason to be "good" or ethical.

If I were to name the virtues that I find noble, I would say the following:

Generousity
Honor
Integrity
Fortitude
Courage

This is the BIG QUESTION, isn't it? If you truly have the answer, you're an enlightened being and why are you on Yahoo!Answers?

My best guess is that the journey is to find the way back to God and I couldn't even imagine where it would end.

The values glorified today are the five great evils: lust, anger, materialism, ego and greed. We live in evil times.

The true journey of life is realizing our true selves or the soul within each of us. We must feel God within ourselves and see God in other living creatures. We must always perform good actions to cancel out our past bad karma and generate good karma for the future. When we put God first, he will guide our lives and the way we live with others will reflect noble values. When we do this and realize God within us, we will know that we have a spiritual connection with God because we are part of him...just as a drop of water from the ocean has the same qualities as water within the ocean. When we have resolved all our karma and we are spiritually conscious, we become free of the cycle of birth and death and we merge with God. The soul is our true being and the body is only temporary. The soul was never born and will never die because God (who the soul is connected to) is not limited by time. Therefore, with our true selves, there is no end. From God we have all come and to him we will all return.

We are created in the image of God. Before this world was created, He knew us and planned out everything for u. We live because this is the time we are given an opporunity to accept Jesus or not. We are living in a period of grace. our sins are not imputed to us, if we believe that the full wrath of God was placed on Jesus, then we are liberated from the wrath of God and punishment for our sins. All we have to do in this journey of life is that we shud accept what the Lord has already done for us and tell others about this great gift!! For the people who have accepted this, life doesn't end with death... We will have eternal life in heaven with new glorified bodies and we will be in the presence of God Almighty, praising and worshipping Him!! There wudn't be any sickness or worries or anything!! that wud be really cool!!! But if we reject the free gift of salvation thro faith in Jesus, then life still doesn't end with death, it goes on to hell, where there is eternal death, which means the ones who did not accept Jesus will be tortured by the devil himself in fire and all sorts of disgusting creatures, but, u cannot die there, u just have to bear that pain & agony for eternity.. its upto us to choose now before our journey ends, WE have two paths now before us, the narrow one, full of trouble and agony and suffering but we also have the guidance of our Lord, it finally leads to ETERNAL LIFE.. the next path is a broader one, full of pleasures and enjoyment, but it leads to eternal death. Jesus doesn't force us to accept Him and so I am also not forcing u, but I pray that God will make u wise and understand the true meaning of this life and the eternal life or death. May the Good God speak to u.. take care..

The human body is not just a body all by itself. There is spirit or soul in it. It was there befor the birth of the baby and it continues be there even after the death of the human body.

The impressions of the past birth are carried to this birth, wherin one makes up his character. According to Hinduism belief, the people who are born undergo karma (effects of past dealings - good or bad ) in this birth. 80% of our future is already destined by karma. We have also free will and hard work which is like 20% rest to make up in this life and the future lives.

One is born in a poor family and other is born in a rich family. Fe people have disabilities, and few of them achieve much better success in theor lives, This is all due to Karma.

This world is infact a school for the soul. The sooner it learns from this lives, the sooner it would get released from this cycle of birth. and death.

There is no need to glorify new values. Inspite of the advances in technology and material innovation, man cannot get over the cycle of birth and death. His deeds good or bad have tremendous effect on his future lives. Unless one's soul gets in union with the super soul, he continues to live in illusion of this world which are all temporary. Even the people who are around are only for specific period.

Everybody in this world are like passengers in the train. When ones destination is reached they part their ways. Infact we meet each other in this world due to our past karmas. One may be your mother or brother in your past life, but in this world one might even look down upon them as prostitute.

So the end point is recognise that there is spirit in each one of us which is divine. Always encourage noble thoughts and make a world a better place to live in.

It is the journey to the center of one's own being ...to find one's self because only then will one find God. It does not end with physical death but continues in the after life.

The path that is for you is the journey. It begins with the first step.

The virtues glorifiy themselves. They are what they are.

It ends at the destination.

The true journey of life is to eat when it's time to eat, work when it's time to work and sleep when it's time to sleep. When we think, desire and worry too much, we will create confusions and make mistakes.
