How can i stop my little angels biting? What is the best way to do this? I've read alot about getting them by the scruff on the neck and saying NO loudly and also spraying water. What is best please. Also the love getting hold of my blinds and curtains and climbing up, lemon spray is not stopping them any hints? They are house cats at the moment.

thankyou

Hi there...young kittens need repetition training with rewards in order to successfully teach them that any unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated. Usually, the best solution for biting/scratching is to cease playing with the kittens when they begin this behaviour. Eventually as they grow older they begin to learn that this behaviour doesn't earn any attention nor affection. Reward them for not biting/scratching with special food treats such as boiled chicken cubes--something different than what they normally eat. Food motivates most animals and they learn quickly with this method. Water squirts for many cats fail since some find it a game and others become more aggressive towards the person squirting them. Cats or any animals for that matter only learn to stop doing things or avoid any unpleasant areas that they discover of their volition rather than when a human intervenes. For curtains, blinds booby-trapping the areas are the best ...consider using double-sided sticky tape (packing tape works best) on the lower half of the curtains/blinds. Cats dislike being stuck to the tape and eventually after a few failed attempts of trying eventually give up and go elsewhere.

Not a lot of things will stop them from doing this stuff because this is what cats DO. Biting and scratching and climbing are part of a cats nature and if they cant find a tree curtains will do. Bummer but there it is.
