i disagree with not_guillible [certified physical trainer] - so don't be gullible here - though right to a certain extent, if you are 5'2" and 102 pounds there IS NOT excess fat on your body and your boyfriend needs to get lost. he'll never be happy with your body if he isn't happy with it now so do yourself a favor and tell him to take his eyes and his body elsewhere.

even the strictest of weight charts are based on the 100 pounds for the first 5 feet and 5 more for each inch you are over that. which in your case would be 110.

exercise if you want to tone what you have but there is NO weight to be shed here.

My ideas? Try to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. Work hard, but don't over 60 minutes at a time. Do planks and other abs exercises on alternate days.

On training days, do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.

The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!

Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.

Read magazines like Shape, Womens Fitness, Fitness, etc to get tips and to stay motivated.

Good luck and stick at it. This plan has lost me 20 lbs in 12 weeks so far, just go for it!

Yes - Loose the weight of that man!!!!!!! Any man that would say that isn't the man your gonna wanna get older with. As you get older start into your 40's your body will change and if he's having issues with you now.. by the way according to your stats you are actually a few pounds under your healthly weight.

What ever you do remember your the one on the inside that really makes the decisions!!!!! Keep a strong mind and strong opinion about the person you are mentally and physically.

I am a Certified Personal Trainer.

Weight in relation to height is practically meaningless. What's more important is your fat-to-lean- mass ratio. For example, if you are 5'2" and 102 lbs. but your body fat is 40% of your total weight, then you need to lose some body fat. Conversely, if your body fat is only 15% or 20% of your total weight then you're fine, you don't need to lose anymore weight. Looking only at weight tells you nothing about what that weight consists of. For example, a professional male bodybuilder may be 6'0" high and weigh 240 lbs. but his body fat is only 8%. On the other hand, a 6'0" Sumo Wrestler's weight is probably 60% or 70% body fat. Both are the same height but their body mass ratios completely different.

I've trained people who, on the surface, appear to be lean and fit because they do not have very much visible bodyfat. Often, these same people do not exercise either, believing they are fit. However, when we perform a body mass test with either calipers or in a water tank, we discover that their weight consists of 40% or more body fat! Even though they appear fit they are actually clinically obese! Their bodies have simply deposited large amounts of fat between muscles and other tissue instead of on the surface where it can be seen. If you've ever seen a steak with marbling (fat) you'll understand the concept.

I've also worked with people who have large frames and may appear obese but are in reality right where they should be because their bodyfat levels are not too high. These people very often workout regularly, too, so they are burning fat and maintaining muscle mass.

If you want to know exactly what your BMI is, go to a personal trainer or someone else who can perform a caliper ("pinch") test for you. If your lean-mass-to-bodyfat-ratio is good, don't worry about your weight. If your fat levels are tending toward the high side then exercise more until it falls into an acceptable range. If you need to lose body fat, do not do it by diet alone. The only way to ensure that the weight you're losing is only fat and not muscle is to take in enough calories daily and exercise regularly.

You are actually at a good weight now. Most people at your height feel 103lbs is the ideal weight. medical reccomendations for your height, age and gender have set the range from 104lbs to 137lbs. If you calculate your height and weight, age plus gender you will find that you are within all normal ranges including your body mass which should range from 19-25, so you are actually an 18.7 Don't change a thing! you're perfect the way you are now. anything lower would be unhealthy for you.

You weigh 102 lbs and your boyfriend wants you to lose more? That is not right.

I recommend that you keep the weight and lose the boyfriend.

Probably not. Ask yourself why you want to lose that weight. If it is because you think you are fat, check into the subject of eating disorders on the internet and maybe see a doctor. And don't listen to Nicole Richie.

This guy probably has some little girl fetish. Tell him to go to medical school, get a licence, and then he can dispense medical advise.

You sound like you are just right. If you are comfortable with your weight then don't listen to your boyfriend. I know it's hard, since we always want to please him but tell him this ........

If I diet and lose more weight, I will lose the weight in my boobs since they are mainly fat. Do you want my boobs to shrink? More then likely he'll say don't diet.

Some times you have got to show the negative side of dieting to guys before they understand. If he still wants you to diet...dump him. Sorry, but if he can't take you however you look (and you sound perfectly fine) then move one, you'll will find somebody better.

You sound like you're at a perfectly healthy weight. I wouldn't lose any more. Just be sure you're getting all the vitamins and nutrients you need by eating healthy foods. Don't forget to throw in a little pilates or walking.

Girl, if you are happy with your weight then you don't need to lose weight. If your boyfriend is telling you that you are fat, he is a jerk. Instead of losing weight try losing him.
