I think that would probably be because the vast majority of other countries are crappy places to live. Would you perhaps rather live in Africa wher at any given time one or two countries are in a bloody civil war, with mind numbing povery, drought, govt corruption, govt abuse of its citzens on a grand scale etc.80% of the African continent is a cesspool as far as living there. Or maybe you would prefer south or central america which pretty much means oppresive and corrupt govts, again with the deep poverty, etc. And the worst part is in most places in the world there's no reason life isn't better, the resorces are there,it's just that all the wealth goes to a very select few and the rest are left hanging on the edge. And it really is that simple it's quality of life, even in now free countries like former soviet republics life is still so bad that coming here and working as a truck driver is a 300% increase in lifestyle at least. For all the complaints about America one thing remains true,We are not perfect we are just better.

Didn't the founders of the U.S have THEIR own country? So why did they come to America? For the same reasons thousands of undocumented workers come to the U.S. For a better life and standard of living for their familes! Stop judging people you know nothing about.

Indeed. But meanwhile, every American who can is running off to Paris to buy real estate. I read that in the New York Times so it must be true.

And in my travels in Latin America and Asia, I keep finding deadbeat dads in the bars of those places who say they're never going back.

What a stupid question? Trace ur family tree way back and u will realize that maybe ur greatgrandmother was a foreigner as well who immigrated to the US. Ask her why she came there. I go there to visit friends and family and to shop. Hope that answers ur question.
