Before the Muslims came out of Arabia and captured the Christian lands and forced Christians to either convert or face servitude to the Muslims?

They even threatened to take Europe several times.

How can then the words of the Byzantine emperor Manuel Paleologos be seen as anything but true?

I think the Byzantine emperor Manuel Paleologos was totally wrong when he said Microsoft would never make it big time.

Have you finally found out the things you slept through at school?
And you obviously never found out about the crusades, the forcible Christianization of the Saxons, the genocide on the indigenous Americans, ...all in the name of Christ.
Both sides have a history of oppressing other faiths, but on the whole, throughout history Islam has been much more tolerant towards other religions than Christianity.
