Actually, If you actually read the Quran instead of just blindly accepting what the media feeds you, you will see that the Quran itself encourages questioning, and attempting to find fault.
1. There is a difference between criticism and libel.
2. The "wild rampages" you see are carried out by only a few very loud, very vocal, minority. The media likes to cover that. Hate sells.

Some Humans "go on wild rampages," of any religion and for any variety of reasons. Consider that the Inquistion was the Christian 'Gestapo' that persecuted those whom did not agree with status quo of the the empire.
Consider the legacy of piracy left by those Christians who rampaged all over the world using the terror genocide, slavery, and despair, for material gain.

We are, ALL OF US, the children of God. If all that our preachers preach is hate, then they are FULL OF FEAR, and they do not know what love is!!!!!!!! Their CLAIMS that they are a peaceful religion, therefore, ARE LIES!!! We CANNOT be hateful ( which is a direct product of FEAR ) toward our fellow human brother, and love God. If we SAY we are loving God, and hating others, then we are LIARS, which is exactly what the Muslim religious leaders are!!!!!!!

when ones religion is questioned there are always those who will take offense at the questioner no matter what religion one happens to follow as there are extremists in any belief system. in my personal opinion believe there is at least a " grain of truth " in any religion as otherwise this religious belief system would not have worked and it would have either been discarded totally or changed in concepts so it would work. as an example even Christianity has changed over the years.

if you satisfy with ur own religion, then just be happy with it, you don't have to go beyond and insult others. Jewish think Jesus is a liar but they don't announce it everywhere. you don't understand Islam, this religion is not a joke. muslims take Islam as part of their life, it's not just some "religions" section in the side. we don't insult Jesus or any prophet, so why would do that for? plus today is very sensitive time, where Iraq is being occupied, Oil is being stealing, aggressive against lebaon, Palastin. there is deep feeling of frustration and unjust.

It is because they are taught, like Christians, to fervently reject any criticism. In Christian churches, they have less of a worry about this, as they have adopted many pagan beliefs to help keep their followers close. During the dark ages, Christians did the same thing as the Muslims do today. Eventually, they will begin allowing no-Muslim beliefs to mix with theirs and they will be less worried about people drifting away.

Though I agree with your statement, I think that there are other factors involved as far as the violent reactions we see when it comes to the Islamic faith. What those are I don't know but I'm sure that the same would be true in any culture.

All revealed religions are based on terror and disconnection from reality. The thing they fear most and react most strongly against is when they are faced with reality - belief in the absurd cannot tolerate the presence of reality.
