It doesn't prove this and you minimize the danger to our troops and their courage and sacrifice by such an uninformed use of a statistic.

There are 16,000 + murders out of 300,000, 000 citizens. You can divide it yourself to get the odds.

There are 2700+ killed in Iraq out of a population of 120,000 - 140,000. Now divide this and compare the odds.

I would do the simple math for you, but when I've helped grade schoolers with such problems they never seem to learn the lesson for themselves.

That's absurd. There are 300 million people in the US and only a small fraction of that at war. A smaller percentage of US citizens have died compared to troops.

It is safer because you are well equiped with all kinds of weapons that you can use to protect yourself. And that you are sent to invite trouble to your citizens who are not as equiped as you are.

Get that!
