There is a single relationship proved so far: that being that bear cubs purr (very loudly, apparently).
Both bears and cats love fish, climb trees and use their forepaws for defence. Both mark theiir territories with spray and are fierce and proud. From another viewpoint, both are cuddly and adorable.
There are links for sure, but the only scientifically based one is the purring.
Just have to wait and see what will be revealed next.

No, bears are not part of the cat family....you've already been told this.

But I have to disagree.....cats DO eat plants from time to time. It's not for survival, but the idea that you will "never see a cat eat a plant of any kind" is false.

No. Bears have their own family called the Ursidae, while cats belong to the family Felidae. Both families are part of the Order Carrnivora (the carnivores) which also includes dogs, wolves and foxes (Canidae), hyaenas (Hyaenidae) and various families of small carnivores as well as pandas

No, a cat is a feline, a bear is ursine. Did you know that most people think a Panda is a bear, but it's part of the racoon family?

No but a panda isn't strictly part of the bear family. Confused, me too!
A Pandas DNA is more akin to a raccoon but he'll always be a bear in my book.
A cat (tiger , cheetah, good ol tabby etc) definitely feline.
You can have a pet cat & you can have a pet bear (providing he's a teddy!)

Bears are Ursae, part of the same group as Canidae (or dogs).

They have similar (although enlarged) musculature to dogs, and their jaws and teeth are also quite similar. Also, both animals although preferring a carnivorous diet, can survive on a vegetable(bears more so, you would never see a wolf eating plants, bit dogs show that they are capable). You will never see cats (Felines) eating any sort of plants.
