Do you believe he has the correct balance on immigration policy, i.e if you want to live in a multi cultural society live elsewhere and if you want to live in a mono / Australian culture, work hard and accept Australian values and cultures - then you are welcome.
A culture which is based on Christian values and democracy.
If you think he is right - why do you think it is not accepted in the U.K, if you think he is wrong why?

Also don't you think the MOBO awards is racist? If there was A MOWO, there would be outrage!

Sorry FL, I could not understand your answer. But I admire you for attempting to answer. Whether it was to slag me off or not. Thanks for trying.
I will not give a best answer on this question because I feel it is slightly political and I don't want to force my opinions on other people. You decide.
Good answers so far.

I don't know what the MOBO awards are but I think that John Howard is a very good Prime Minister. He has Australia's best interests at heart and has done a great job. If you think Australia is a monocultural society then you are either naive or ignorant. The Government wants immigrants to adopt Australian laws when they come to live over here, not to follow their own 'religious laws'. If they want to live in a democracy then they abide by that democracy, they are not exempt from our laws just because they don't agree with them. The Muslim party have been complaining that we should introduce Islamic law well why the hell should we? If they want to move to another country then they accept our laws damn it. How dare they come over here and try to change the laws of our democracy to suit themselves. I have nothing against the Muslim community but HOW DARE THEY?

Not that I like agreeing with John Howard, but if you want to follow another countries values, why don't you just stay in that country? Don't know why the U.K. hasn't adopted the same position, maybe because you have even more spineless politicians than we do.

I'd never heard of the MOBO awards until just then. I think black artists are well enough represented in the mainstream awards. Although I realy don't care what black 'musicians' do as long as I don't have to listen to any one else bragging about how they were arrested.

I'm not a big fan of Aussies, but I think that John Howard is the best ever PM that they have ever elected. He should take up UK citizenship, stand for election, and implement his policies on immigration here. Would help get rid of the problem of ILLEGAL immigration (by which I mean: if you've no right to be in the country, then it should be on the first plane back with you). That's not being racist or xenophobic, just taking a common-sense approach.

The thing which I admire about the Australian Prime Minister is the fact that he truly supports his own country and doesn,t shy away from his responsibilities in any shape or form ,as does George Bush , and the Americans continue to give their best to the free world, in spite of the S.H.I.T. Which continue to take all that is given to the free world and then Sneer and Knock Australia, America and Great Britain,God Bless Australia , America Great Britain and all who Love and Protect t the Free world

I think JH is an excellent sensible PM, he knows that only letting productive people that will make a positive contribution to Australian in is the right way to go, and it's paying off, the country is prospering under his government. He is a leader who doesn't take any crap from the PC brigade , he knows that letting any tom dick and harry in will not do Australia or the people who already live there any good, and all of that while maintaining a socialist state. Good on them.

I don't care for MOBO awards, if black want them thats fine, white people as yet don't need to use racism as weapon to get what ever they want, but I agree a MOWO would be seen as racist.

Whilst there are many aspects of John Howards thinking that I do not support, I certainly do support this proposal. I believe that when you choose to migrate to anotlher country then you should leave your factions and hatred back in the country that you are choosing to leave. The key word their is of course, choice. Nobody is focrcing you to come to Australia, and as a migrant myself I am eternally grateful for the opportunities that have been afforded to me here. I am proud of my heritage and my background however I am ever more proud to say that I am Australian. John Howard is not asking anyone to forego their religion or their ancestry he is however asking that as a minimum youb learn English and adopt the values of democracy, free speech, and the concept of a "fair go" that is inherant in the Australian ethos.

Australia has had a "whites only" pilicy in the past. Like south africa, "white" did not necessary mean skin colour as arabs could be classified as "black".

Being a christian, muslim or whatever is not a valid criteria for residence because these are beliefs. Christians become muslims and vice-versa. It is not acceptable to force anyone to change what they believe by law and is even prohibited in many religions. eg.

"There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the Right Path has become distinct from the wrong path. Whoever disbelieves in Taghoot and believes in Allah, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower. "
( سورة البقرة , Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #256)

Its sad because the europeans/whites themselves are immigrants that invaded and killed the native population to claim their land (in Australia, southern Africa and north/south America).

I think the usual taunt of sending the immigrants back home may actually work IF it is applied fairly. ie. all the european immigrants from Australia and the Americas go back home and the non-EU immigrants (majority of whom at least entered legally) return back to their native origins.... perhaps this may be the "fair" but unlikely to ever be accepted by the "white" Australians or Americans.

It's about time little Johnny Howard woke up and smelled the roses. Australia is not just an economy and company profits.

John Howard is a right wing wan*er like many other Australians. First and foremost the host culture of Australia has nothing to with 'white christain capitalist democracy. It's the native Aborigenal culture, right up to today the powers that be show absolutely no respect for their culture and values. Immigration does more good than harm and the sooner that 'neo fascists' in Canberra realise this the better.
